About the Role
This role will act as the Finance Lead across multiple entities within the group, overseeing full-spectrum finance operations including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Accounts Payable (AP) while ensuring the financial reporting mechanism and compliance timelines are fully met in accordance with legal ordinance.
The successful candidate will balance hands-on execution with strategic oversight, supporting business growth while ensuring financial discipline, accuracy, and compliance. This is a high-ownership role within a lean team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Reporting
Manage and oversee full set of accounts (GL, AR, AP) across group entities.
Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Perform account reconciliations, ledger reviews, and variance analysis.
Maintain proper documentation, audit trails, and accounting records.
Cashflow & Financial Planning
Lead cashflow forecasting, monitoring, and optimisation.
Prepare and manage budgets, accruals, and financial projections.
Provide insights on cost management, profitability, and financial performance.
Multi-Currency & Cross-Border Transactions
Manage USD-denominated and multi-currency transactions.
Oversee cross-border payments and collections through commercial banking and standard international payment platforms.
Monitor foreign exchange exposure and ensure appropriate accounting treatment.
Accounts Receivable & Payable
Monitor receivables and ensure timely collections from clients.
Manage vendor payments including service providers, agencies, and operational partners.
Maintain controls over payment processes and cash disbursement cycles.
Compliance & Governance
Ensure compliance with Malaysian statutory requirements (i.e. EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB, HRDF, MTS).
Support tax filings, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and professional advisors.
Strengthen internal controls, SOPs, and financial governance frameworks.
Ensure adherence to internal governance policies and financial control frameworks in line with best practices.
Team Leadership & Execution
Lead and guide a small finance team, providing direction and mentorship.
Remain hands-on in accounting operations where required.
Establish scalable processes and workflow efficiencies.
Business Expansion Support
Support new entity setup and financial structuring.
Participate in financial due diligence and integration activities.
Drive standardisation of finance processes across entities.

Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Professional qualification (ACCA / CPA / MIA or equivalent) is an advantage
5–8 years of relevant experience, preferably in multi-entity and corporate cultured environments
Proficient in FMCG, IT, or Retail industry is an advantage
Possessing the ability to communicate in writing/oral with China stakeholders
Strong experience in full set accounting and financial reporting
Exposure to multi-currency and cross-border transactions
Good understanding of Malaysian statutory and tax requirements
Proficient in accounting systems and financial ecosystem establishment
Proficient in advanced Excel/PowerBI skills and competent with PowerPivot, PowerQueryConnector, and information database ecosystem
Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working within a lean team structure (3 people) during commencement with high likelihood of Finance team expansion alongside career progression into a Head of Department
